Great Traits to Look For in A Nanny!

How do you know you found the right nanny?

Families may look for many different qualities in a nanny, but we believe they can all agree on important traits. Each family is unique and requires different needs. Some families might want a young and energetic nanny, while other families might want an older more mature and professional nanny. Overall we believe all families can agree on important traits they would like their nanny to posses.  Here is our list of important traits we believe great nannies should have…

#1 genuine interest in childcare/children as well as the whole family

#2 comfortable and connects with children as well as the parents

#3 respects parenting philosophies

#4 trustworthy

#5 reliable

#6 excellent communication skills

#7 great at multitasking

#8 patience

#9 loving and caring

#10 flexible

but the most important things to look for are…is your child excited to see them every time? Is your child eager to tell you about their activities together? If they meet all the above, then we believe you have yourself the right nanny!

The Coolest Parks for San Diego Kids!

Who doesn’t like playing outside?

For San Diego kids, the outdoors is fortunately a yearly wonderland. Thanks to great weather year around, it makes it easy for lots of outdoor play. And that is a great thing for parents, nannies and caregivers who have little ones needing to run off some energy. Our parks are a perfect place to explore the local sights and sounds.  After reading a current post on the Red Tricycle, which I love, about the coolest parks here in our very own San Diego, I just had to share.Check them out!

New Children’s Museum

Have you been yet?

The New Children’s Museum is a wonderful place that celebrates children and the arts. It’s a perfect place to go anytime of the year. It is a non-profit institution funded by our admissions, memberships, and our overall community support. At the Museum, children are empowered to think, play and create through participatory exhibitions, engaging art-making activities, captivating artistic performances, and in-depth educational opportunities. What is also great about The New Children’s Museum, is that it’s for kids of all ages, not just for the little ones. They have stuff for older children too, such as the Teen Studio for teenagers! And even better, this amazing place is located here in our very own downtown San Diego. Located 200 West Island Avenue, the museum faces Harbor Drive, and is well positioned near the MTS Convention Center Trolley stop, Seaport Village and the Gaslamp Quarter. This is a great location! They always have something new to explore. If you forgot or didn’t already know, we just thought we’d bring it up!

The Museum provides a comfortable and engaging environment for the entire family to enjoy together, so get out there and enjoy it!  There is so much to see and do with your kids in San Diego. And this is another great example. For more info visit: www.thinkplaycreate.org.
